Collections

The University Library strives to acquire and purchase access to library materials in multiple formats to support Valdosta State University's undergraduate and graduate academic programs and the research and teaching needs of its faculty, staff, and students. The Acquisitions, Cataloging and Collection Development staff work together to oversee the ordering, processing, and removal of materials in the Library collection. Holdings

The University Library contains over 453,757 bound volumes, including 2,000 current periodicals and newspapers and a microform collection of over a million units.  The library has access to over 100 electronic periodical and resources indexes (many with full text), almost 4,000 electronic journals, and about 50,000 electronic books. Additionally, the Library is a Federal Document Selective Depository and holds more than 42,000 U.S. government documents, approximately 10,000 Georgia state documents, with electronic access to many additional titles.
