Welcome!

Welcome to the web pages for the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students Office is dedicated to student development both inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to provide quality programs, facilities and services that will enhance the educational and personal experiences of VSU students.

The Dean of Students Office is responsible for the supervision of the following VSU departments, programs and services; Campus Recreation (Student Recreation Center, IM Fields, CORE Outdoor Rental Center  & Ropes Course), VSU Parents & Families Association, Student Conduct, Orientation and Leadership Development, Student Life (Homecoming, Greek Life, student organizations and Campus Activities Board), Testing, Cooperative Education, Volunteer Services, Student Government Association, school mascot (Blaze), medical and hardship withdrawals for students, Who’s Who, and all Student Activity Fee Funded Budgets. Valdosta State has over 175 registered student organizations ranging from social to religious in nature.  Construction of the new Student Union began in the summer of 2008 and is scheduled for completion in December of 2009. This state of the art facility will include; a 300 seat Movie Theater with Dolby Surround Sound, Food Court (Nathans Hot Dogs, Starbucks and Loop Pizza Grill), Bookstore, Game Room, Student Lounge Space, Student Organization Offices, Large Multi-purpose room and meeting rooms. The Student Union will open to the university community in January of 2010, and the Dean of Students Office will be located within this facility.
